WHA protocol study of the bactericidal efficiency of colloidal treated bars, and our finding based on WHA calculations we will expect a suitable performance of the bars accordingly to the following table for a period of 12 months.
Volume (liters) | Diameter (cm) | Height (cm) | Number of bars | 301.6 | 80 | 60 | 20 | 203.6 | 72 | 50 | 15 | 102 | 57 | 40 | 10 | 50 | 40 | 40 | 6 | 21 | 30 | 30 | 3 |
Of course, the bars should be kept out of direct sunlight.
It would take 41 to 45 ml of paint to treat one bar. That difference allows for perfect applications and non perfect applications.
One treated Bar with our SilverDYNE® activator will disinfect 5 gallon of water for a period of approximately one year. (For example if you wanted to treat 200 liters or 50 gallons of water for one year you would need 10 bars)
Bar painting Application:
- Dip bar into paint let soak for 20 min. up to two hour depending how porus the bar is, than let it drip dry into separate container over night or until paint is completely dry to the touch. After bar is dry rinse bar in five gallon bucket untill there is no more yellow tint in water. Do not dispose of excess paint as it may be reused on new bars.
- To get best results with the Bars when treating cisterns or water tanks, put bars in fish net with a nylon string and hook attached, submerge bar and net 2/3 into the tanks depth using the hook at the end of string to attach to top of tank to keep bars from moving any deeper into the tank.
- For multi bar use, stagger the bars around the tank proportionally following the same steps as above.
- Mark or tag tank or cistern on the date the bar was submerged and then the date one year later or your market goal at that point the bar should be replaced with new bar.
- It is best to wear rubber gloves when applying the paint for it will stain your hand for approximately two to three weeks, but it is not harmful to the skin.
